The German record company SPV GmbH (An acronym for the full name) was founded on 1st January 1984 in Hannover by .
Registered date: 17th May 1984, Amtsgericht Hannover, HRB 1698.
In May 2009, the year of its 25th anniversary, SPV filed for bankruptcy in order to find a way to continue the company, i.I. (=in Insolvenz) was appended to the name.
In October 2012 the situation was resolved by a group of investors who restructured the company and saved the complete portfolio of the distributor.
