J Records

J Records was a private joint venture between former Arista CEO [a=Clive Davis] and BMG Entertainment, and was established after he was rehired by [l=BMG Music] (which initially had forced his retirement from [l=Arista] Records in 2000). The label was a part of the [b][l=RCA] Music Group[/b], itself a unit of [l=Sony Music Entertainment].
In September 2011, J Records, alongside [l=Jive], [l=Arista] and [l=LaFace Records] were all absorbed by Sony with its flagship label, RCA, bringing all of its artists to the RCA family.
