Teal Record Company Ltd. Zambia

Teal Record Company Ltd Zambia was a Zambian record company originally founded in 1973. Teal Zambia managed a number of labels under their umbrella. Some early records were released under the Teal label, but the company eventually created a number of sub labels used to represent different regions of Zambia. Teal owned a record pressing plant in Ndola that produced much of Zambia's recorded media, including for competitor companies such as . Teal operated in Zambia until the early 1990's when economic pressures, piracy and political turmoil led to the company's failure and closure. Sadly, most of the Teal's master recordings were lost following the company's demise.
