United Artists Recording Studio

0 releases

Los Angeles recording studio and mastering facility owned by United Artists Records in the 1970s. Originally World Pacific Studios, the building was acquired in the 1966 buyout of World Pacific Records and became Liberty Studios, then Liberty/UA Recording Studios after the sale of Liberty to Transamerica Corporation. Ownership changed to United Artists in 1971 upon Transamerica's shutdown of Liberty. In 1995 the studio was sold and became Neil Diamond's Arch Angel Studios.

Engineers known to have worked here: Ralph Eck, Jim Dorrell, Kathy Keep (head engineer), Christina Hersch, Bert Agudelo, Lanky Linstrot, Bob Brown, Dino Lappas (Director of Recording after 1971).

Some 1970s releases have UA etched in the vinyl run-out (see picture), and should be entered as "Lacquer Cut At".
