American banking, communications & entertainment corporation.
They acquired [l=United Artists Records, Inc.] in May 1967 and [l=Liberty Records, Inc.] in summer 1968.
Both were merged into [l=Liberty/United Artists, Inc.] a.k.a. [l=Liberty/UA, Inc.], which appears on the records approximately spring 1969.
Early in 1971 the [l=Liberty] label was folded and merged into the [l=United Artists Records] roster.
A new heading company appeared, [l=United Artists Music And Records Group, Inc.] to manage UA and the several sublabels.
After a complicated try to sell the labels in 1978, the company [l=Capitol Records, Inc.] acquired the label-trust early in 1979.
