BBC Records

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) first introduced its own record label in 1967. It has used various names through the years. Please be sure to use the correct label:

1967-70 BBC Radio Enterprises
1970-74 BBC Records
1974-89 BBC Records And Tapes
1990s- BBC Worldwide.

With a remit to release singles and albums connected to TV and radio programmes (plus royal souvenirs), its output has been extremely varied and takes in a large amount of spoken-word material as well as music in a wide range of styles including theme music released as singles. The BBC Radiophonic Workshop established in 1958 created experimental music and other sounds used for programmes.
