Founded in March 1973, after ABC/Dunhill Records consolidated their music publishing firms into one firm for each music licensing concern. The label's two prior ASCAP-licensed firms, Wingate Music Corp. and Ampco Music, Inc., were folded into American Broadcasting Music, Inc. and the copyrights of the two prior firms combined into the new entity.
