In an attempt to diversify the Def Jam brand and extend creative power to fellow
artists and producers, and established an umbrella
sub-group in 1990 which they called Rush Associated Labels -- which
(since they were under distribution by CBS) was indicatively modeled after
the CBS Associated Labels concept.
Company was absorbed by around 1998,
after a substantial failure of all the sub-labels it controlled.
