Hard Times The Label

HARD TIMES THE LABEL or HT THE LABEL as per their logo originated from the club nights "Hard Times" that had various locations around Leeds. The man who started it all was [a=Steve Raine]. A farmer who went from herding and milking cows and turned his interest into music business in the early '90s, from the club came the label who mainly focused on American garage. The label attracted fast artists like Todd Terry, Benji Candelario and Roger Sanchez to name a few. Hard Times followed Dave Lee's (Joey Negro) Republic label and exported the American garage Sound. Hard Times vanished around 1996. HARD TIMES THE LABEL distributed through Network/Sony.
The label was revived as [l=Hard Times] in 2023.
