Philadelphia girl group. Various sources say they started out as The Creations. They also mention Fannie Lee Cobb, Lulu Martin and Rita Graves as its members. Cobb was previously in the group . They recorded two singles for the Academy label (see ). They were [r=9561323] and [r=1835773]. Both were released in 1965.
Even though they were a totally different group to the that recorded for the label, there is a common connection to at least one person. This was composer, producer, song writer . As the story goes, Hurtt co-wrote "What A Lesson I've Learned ". Not long after the single was released, the ladies who sang on that record had disappeared. With Hurtt wanting to keep that sound, he revived the Honey and the Bees name a year later with a different line up.
