Protégé of pop-rapper [a=MC Hammer]. Her name stood for Beautiful Angie Boyd. After releasing a successful first album and singles, she changed her name to just Angie B and released some more music. (She should not be confused with [a=Angie Stone], who was also occasionally known as Angie B.)
