Bubbling

Bubbling is a style of Electronic Dance Music originating in the Netherlands in the late
1980s, when DJ Moortje accidentally played a 33rpm Dancehall record at 45rpm, resulting in
a faster beat and pitched-up vocals. Inspired by the crowd's positive reaction, Moortje
began producing beats with sped-up dancehall as the basis, often layering it with rave-
inspired synthesizers and percussion influenced by traditional Dutch Antillean music and
to create a new sound.
