Cover photo: "Art Pepper climbing the hill on Fargo Street, Los Angeles, near his home, 1956. The photo aimed to symbolize his up-hill struggle with drug addiction, as well as his career. According to William Claxton, Art Pepper had just gotten out of jail the day before and was waiting in Echo Park to score heroin but was jumpy because he'd cut his hand on a soup can."

Originally released as "Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section" Contemporary Records C-3532. Recorded 19th January 1957.
