Original Australian edition. Front laminated sleeve.
Orange labels with side numbers and Stereo indicated. This version has publishers for tracks A1 (Control) & A6 (Leeds). Differing from another similar orange label version, which does not have "Stereo" on the labels, & where the publishers for those tracks are A1 (Affiliated) & track A6 (Essex): [r9169410]
The labels list the artist as David Bowie and the album as Pin Ups
β 1973 RCA Records.
Manufactured by RCA Limited, Sydney, Australia.
Australian issues did not contain the inner bag /insert found in original US and UK issues.
Cover design follows US layout with large lettering and rear cover image positioning and album titling in top RH corner. The lower half of the central panel is pasted over (covering the MainMan logo on US/UK issues).
The release code indicates this album was scheduled for January 1974 release in Australia. It was "rush released" in November 1973 to capture Christmas sales.
In the matrix runout area the RCA Indianapolis pressing plant marker ('I') can be seen, indicating that RCA Australia used plates sent over from US Indianapolis plant. The Australian issue sounds tonally similar to the US issue.
