German Shellac label launched by [l=Favorite GmbH] in 1905; also appears as Favorite Record.
Favorite Record was one of several labels manufactured in Germany and marketed in England prior to World War I by the German-owned Fonotipia company, a subsidiary of [l=Carl Lindström A.-G.]
Around 1910, Favorite records entered a deal with the Brazilian firm [l=Casa Faulhaber & Co.] for the pressing of local recordings.
In 1913 the label was acquired by [l=Carl Lindström A.-G.]. In the 1920s, the label began to release not only its own recordings, but also matrices produced by the American [l=Okeh] label.
In 1926, the Favorite label was discontinued, but some of its matrices were reissued under the [l=Parlophon] label.
