[b]GTO Records[/b] label was formed in 1974 by Laurence Myers, with a roster of artists including The Dooleys, Donna Summer and Heatwave. Myers' music production company, the [a=Gem Toby Organization], provided the "GTO" acronym and Myers had also had previous success with his GTO Films company, sharing an involvement with the film 'Fatal Attraction'.

The [b]GTO Records[/b] label was sold to CBS Records in 1977 and ceased to appear after 1981 when its artists moved onto another CBS label, [l=Epic] Records. The GTO back catalog was subsequently acquired by Sony Music, that is now [l=Sony BMG Music Entertainment].
