The company was established in 1970 through the merger of [l=CBS Italiana S.p.A.] and [l=Sugar Music]
Until 1977, CBS Sugar managed the manufacturing, promotion and distribution of [l=CBS] records in Italy, along with the running of its own sub-labels, among which [l=CGD], [l=Bus Production], [l=VIP (2)] and [l=Derby].
In 1977, CBS established it's own Italian company and CBS Sugar ceased to exist.
