Founded in 1958, Colpix was film studio Columbia Pictures' first foray into the record business. Besides making mainstream pop records, the label released soundtracks to Columbia films and records by the stars of TV series produced by Columbia's television division, [b]Screen Gems[/b]. Colpix was succeeded by the [l=Colgems] label in 1966.
