Sobelpress S.A.
In full: Société belge de Pressage. Belgian record company and manufacturer founded in 1969 by [l=S.A. Fonior N.V.] (owned by Eugene Willy Pelgrims de Bigard) by merging three companies it had purchased in the preceding years: [l=Sobedi] (So-), [l=S.A. Fabeldis] (-bel-) and [l=Discopress] (-press). At this time, these three plants together were good for 85% of the Belgian record production. Through [l=IPG] Pelgrims de Bigard owned 11.5% of Soblepress. In 1978 the company bought [l=Fonopers]. Eventually when Fonior went bankrupt in 1980, the remaining original Sobelpress plant in Groot-Bijgaarden was sold to [l=Druco] and became [l=Elpeco]. Fonopers survived the bankruptcy as an independent company.
