Arion

French record label, also credited as [b]Disques Arion[/b], founded by [a=Ariane Ségal] in 1962. Arion specialized in classical music productions (Arion Musique) and traditional music (Arion World), and was one of the first labels producing what it would be later known as "world music". The label also released music in a wide range of other non-mainstream fields, from easy listening through to avant-garde/contemporary music.
From the mid 1970s Arion was given the [b]Label Code: LC 1800 / LC 01800[/b].
In 1985 Arion was bought by italian company Ducale S.p.A. and then directed by Manuela Matalon Ostrolenk.
