Hot Wax

2 releases

One of three US soul labels (the other being Invictus and Music Merchant) set-up in Detroit, Michigan, during 1969 by Brian Holland, Edward Holland, Jr. and business partner Lamont Dozier. This was the result of the trio leaving Motown, following disputes over royalties.
The label was first distributed by Buddah Records. CBS Records distributed the last three issues. Hot Wax was in operation during 1969 - 1977. The number sequence is a bit odd. The first two digits tell what year the record was released.
