Hot Wax
4 releases
One of three US soul labels (the other being [l=Invictus] and [l=Music Merchant]) set-up in Detroit, Michigan, during 1969 by [a=Brian Holland], [a=Edward Holland, Jr.] and business partner [a=Lamont Dozier]. This was the result of the trio leaving [l=Motown], following disputes over royalties.
The label was first distributed by Buddah Records. CBS Records distributed the last three issues. Hot Wax was in operation during 1969 - 1977. The number sequence is a bit odd. The first two digits tell what year the record was released.
