Earliest issues had black-on-green labels. The more common gold-on-red labels first appeared in 1928. After the label's owner, [l=Regal Record Company, Inc.], had merged with and others to form the in July 1929, the company name "" at the bottom of the label was replaced with "Made in U.S.A."
Many Jewel couplings duplicate those of another Regal label, , and have catalog numbers corresponding to Orioles, plus 4000 (e.g. Oriole 2089 = Jewel 6089). Pressing quality of Jewel releases was inferior, even by Scranton's lax standards. The label was discontinued in early 1932.
