The WDR ([i][b]W[/b]est[b]d[/b]eutscher [b]R[/b]undfunk[/i]) is a German public service radio and TV broadcaster for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, based in Köln (Cologne). It originated in 1956 after the separation of the (NWDR) into the NDR and the WDR, and is one of the largest European stations.
