Johnny Hoes Benelux Music Industries B.V.
Dutch record company in Weert founded by [a=Johnny Hoes] in approx. 1974. His daughter [a=Jacqui Hoes] took over management later on, with brother [a=Adrian Hoes] as sales manager. Jacqui's husband Schayar Sjamschidi was product manager.
At first BMI repertory went through [l=Dureco] (where Hoes worked as a producer), until he set up his own distribution company , followed by a studio ([l=B.M.I. Studios]), a pressing plant and a sleeve-printing company. All were mainly used for their own releases. The plant, founded in 1972, had its own plating facilities, but no cutting facilities. Throughout the seventies the plant depended on various domestic and foreign studios for lacquer mastering, including [l=Dureco Studio] and [l=Foon], until the latter acquired exclusivity in 1978. By 1980 the plant had a capacity of 100,000 singles and 130,000 albums, a share of about 5% of the Dutch market.
