Luke Records began it's existence in September 1990 after Trevor Lucas' legal team got involved and forced The 2 Live Crew (the label owner) to stop using the Luke Skyywalker name.
The label was originally named Luke Skyywalker Records. Owned by Luther "Luke Skyywalker" Campbell of The 2 Live Crew fame.
