Candid was originally an American jazz label from New York.

It was founded in late 1960 as a subsidiary of Cadence Records and its first releases were issued in January 1961. The label was directed by [a=Bob Altshuler], with [a=Nat Hentoff] as producer. In late 1961, the label came to its end. Nearly 3 decades later, [l=Black Lion] London-based owner acquired the label, started to reissue the original catalog as of 1989 and release new recordings. Around 2019, Candid was sold to the newly founded headed by .
