Punk record label based in Hollywood, California.

Founded in 1981 by [a=Bad Religion] guitarist [a=Brett Gurewitz]. The label had its most successful years in the '90s with artists like [a=The Offspring], [a=NOFX] and [a=Rancid], who all released albums that would be certified gold or platinum. The Offspring's Smash album remains Epitaph's best-selling record to date, selling over 12 million copies worldwide.

Epitaph has also been the home to many acts, such as [a=L7], [a=Pennywise], [a=Down By Law (2)], [a=Rich Kids On LSD], [a=SNFU], [a=Ten Foot Pole], [a=Total Chaos (2)], [a=Gas Huffer], [a=Voodoo Glow Skulls], [a=Millencolin], [a=Descendents], [a=ALL (2)], [a=H2O (7)], [a=Refused], [a=Guttermouth], [a=The Bouncing Souls], [a=Death By Stereo], [a=1208], [a=Motion City Soundtrack], [a=Frank Turner], [a=Alkaline Trio], [a=Set Your Goals], [a=Every Time I Die], [a=The Weakerthans], [a=Off With Their Heads], [a=Thursday], [a=New Found Glory], and most recently, [a=Social Distortion] and [a=Weezer].

Epitaph also operate in Europe via their Netherlands office and their office in Toronto, Canada.

The original Epitaph logo features with the word 'Epitaph' in normal font under a big 'E' and the old label's address '6201 Sunset Boulevard' on the labels.
Later logo features with the word 'Epitaph' in gothic font.
