The British Zonophone Co. Ltd.
UK record company established 1910 to manage [l=The Gramophone Co. Ltd.]'s [l=Zonophone Record] label.
Michael Thomas notes that the entity "British Zonophone Company Ltd" appeared on a label change for in June 1910.
Unless differentiating between "The British Zonophone Co. Ltd" and "British Zonophone Company Ltd", it would seem that a date for establishment is at least June 1910 - if not earlier.
In 1909 The Gramophone Co. Ltd. introduces the double sided disc under tha label [l=The Twin], and a number of Zonophone Record releases showcase the label. as early as 1909, the red-labeled [l=Zonophone Celebrity Record] imprint appears. By mid 1920s, Zonophone Record and it's variants are discontinued in favour of [l=Zonophone].
In 1931, when Columbia & the Gramophone Company were merged to form EMI, the Zonophone logo was once again paired with an existing label and was born. This survived until 1948. The name was revived in the 1960s (by EMI).
