Polyphon

[b]Polyphon[/b] is a multi-national record label originally established in 1908 by German [l=Polyphonwerke A.-G.] (registered as trademark No. 110347).

During the 1920's, the label was used in more than 30 markets by the company and its international subsidiaries. When [l=Polyphonwerke A.-G.] changed their name to [l=Deutsche Grammophon-Aktiengesellschaft] in 1932, the label was replaced by [l=Polydor] in most markets and used exclusively by Danish [l=Nordisk Polyphon Aktieselskab] on Scandinavian releases until the late 1960's. Reactivated twice as a budget label: in the early 1970s and in the mid-1980s. After a series of label mergers and buy-outs, Polyphon ended up as part of the [l=Universal Music Group].
