Polyphon
Polyphon is a multi-national record label originally established in 1908 by German Polyphonwerke A.-G. (registered as trademark No. 110347).
Label Code: LC 0310 / LC 00310
During the 1920's, the label was used in more than 30 markets by the company and its international subsidiaries. When Polyphonwerke A.-G. changed their name to Deutsche Grammophon-Aktiengesellschaft in 1932, the label was replaced by Polydor in most markets and used exclusively by Danish Nordisk Polyphon Aktieselskab on Scandinavian releases until the late 1960's. Reactivated twice as a budget label: in the early 1970s and in the mid-1980s. After a series of label mergers and buy-outs, Polyphon ended up as part of the Universal Music Group.
