British record company (copyright holder) established by Jake Riviera, Elvis Costello, and Nick Lowe. The legal entity behind the Demon Records label until 1998. Operating under this name since 3 October 1980. On 6 April 1998 ultimate ownership of the Company was transferred from the three-named individuals above (as beneficiaries of F-Beat Records Ltd.) to 'Kingfisher plc', the new ultimate owner of F-Beat Records Ltd. Ultimate ownership then passed to 'Woolworths Group plc' and later the BBC.
