Promese

Promese was a Dutch company that offered CD, DVD, and other media manufacturing services. Promese took over from Mediamotion 15 April 2009, and then from 1 March 2016 their manufacturing division was renamed Profact International (although the name Promese lived on for other business activities).

Identifying and crediting Promese:
Glass masters by Promese generally have the following layout:

· XXXXXX is a sequential number that may be entered in LCCN for Promese. Promese inherited this sequential matrix numbering scheme from Mediamotion who inherited it in 2003 from the Metatec Corporation Breda plant. Until approximately 2011, this number was prefixed with a B - please include the B when entering this in LCCN. Occasionally there's an extra appended letter at the end of the number which should not be entered in LCCN, as it may vary over variants and has a separate purpose. Example: 13975925.

· # is a numerical digit, probably indicating serial glass master creation

· YYYYYY is variable information, often one of the company's URLs (WWW.PROMESENL.EU or WWW.PROMESE.EU), the name or URL of a manufacturing broker, or release-specific information such as artist name/release title/catalogue#

Please note that as Promese was renamed Profact International on 1 March 2016, any post-2016 release with this matrix pattern should be credited to that profile instead of Promese. For 2016 releases (or those with unknown release dates), releases with matrix numbers up to 40468xx should be credited to Promese, while releases 40469xx and beyond should go to Profact International.
