West Coast Jazz label used from ~1952 to 1957 and record company founded by jazz producer and jazz drummer . In the first week of July 1957, they launched their lower priced jazz line "Mark IV" which started with [r5123554]. The series is seen in the watermark on the label. It appears to only have lasted for two albums (ending with [r7029816]), most likely due to the restructuring under [l=World Pacific Records]. The catalog of Pacific Jazz was reissued on [l=World Pacific Records] through the [l=Pacific Jazz Series] between 1957 and 1960. Reactivated in 1960 and acquired by [l=Liberty Records (3)]/[l=Liberty Records, Inc.] in 1965. Often associated to the label [l=World Pacific Jazz] in the late 60s (a division of [l=Liberty/U.A. Inc.]). Consider adding both labels if they appear on the release.
The label was revived in the early 90s by [l=Capitol Records, Inc.] and sometimes carry the notation "[i]A Blue Note Label[/i]".
