Cupol

Swedish label, independent from 1947 to 1970, then in collaboration with the American CBS, which was later bought by Sony.

In 1947, [l=Sonora (2)]'s chief recording engineer [a=Helge Roundquist] together with engineer Artur Rydin left [l=Sonora (2)] and set up Cupol together with artists like [a=Yngve Stoor], [a=Willard Ringstrand] and [a=Thore Ehrling]. Cupol started to release records June 1947. In 1970, Cupol was merged with [l=CBS Records AB] and in 1973 CBS took over full ownership of Cupol. The last original Cupol recording was made in 1975. Revived under [l=Sony Music Entertainment (Sweden) AB].
