MCA Records Ltd.

UK based record company associated with the MCA Records label. The company was registered on 24th Oct 1967 but didn't begin operations until February 1968. It introduced the MCA Records label in the U.K., as well as UNI Records and a classical music label called "Gold Records".

In 1995, "The Seagram Company Ltd." (Canada) acquired 80% of MCA, Inc. the company's former ultimate parent. On 6 March 1997, MCA Records Ltd. was merged into Universal Music (UK) Ltd. The company name continued on from 7 March 1997 after the renaming of Universal Music (UK) Ltd. to 'MCA Records Limited' and finally dissolved on 11 May 2010 (UK Company number 03292151). The final, immediate parent was Universal Music Group International Ltd.

Distribution switched from PolyGram Distribution to BMG in January/February 1991.
