Monument Recording Studio

AKA Monument Studio located in Nashville, Tennessee.
Opened by Fred Foster in 1969 after closing his Fred Foster Sound Studio due to a building demolition — an inconvenient preventative to good recording sessions — Monument had an immediate impact on the Nashville recording community.

Chief engineer Tommy Strong recorded three hits for Sammi Smith on the Mega label: Help Me Make It Through The Night, Then You Walk In and For the Kids.

On Monument's early 16-track recorder Roger Miller recorded his version of Me and Bobby McGee for Mercury; many tunes were recorded there for the house Monument label, as well.

In 1975, the studio was purchased by Chip Young and renamed Young 'Un Sound, Nashville.
