Independent NZ label formed in 1957 by Murdoch Riley, Jim Staples and Ron Dalton. The first release was in October that year. Over the past decades it's released hundreds of albums in virtually every genre, from Pop to Classical to Maori to Jazz, although is now only really in business as a low key book publisher in Wellington. Jim Staples left in the early 1960s, followed by Ron Dalton in 1968. It is still owned by the Riley family.
