Embassy records were cover (tribute) versions of current hits produced and manufactured by [l=Oriole Records Limited] for F.W. Woolworth & Co.Ltd. from late 1954 until 1965. In 1964 acquires Oriole Records Ltd. and is renamed with the rights to the imprint initially passing to that company, subsequently CBS Records Limited is renamed in 1967, with that company reviving Embassy as a budget reissue label in October 1973, and continued into the mid eighties.
