It's possible to discern the period in which a Ra Records release was issued/reissued by confirming the 'Distributed By' entity:
- when Ra Records began in 1990 their releases were marketed by PolyGram (cat# starting with 875).
- from 1992 to April 1996 Ra Records were distributed by Warner Music Australia / Warner Music Australasia (cat# starting with 450, sometimes 206 or 063).
- from June 1996 to September 1996 Ra Records were distributed by Shock Records Pty. Ltd. (cat# starting with 206).

- from November 1996 to 2004 Ra Records were distributed by BMG Australia / BMG Australia Limited (cat# starting with 7432). On September 29th 1996 rooArt / Ra Records was acquired by BMG Australia Limited for AU$5 million.

- from late-2004 BMG Australia/Limited became Sony BMG Music Entertainment (Australia) Pty Limited.
