
Studio Pathé Marconi EMI
Recording and mastering studio in Boulogne-Billancourt (near Paris), France, founded in 1956 by engineer [a=Claude Wagner] and eventually dismantled at the end of the 1990s. It was located in a chateau which also housed the group's publishing, distribution and promo offices.
The 24- and 48-track studio was designed by EMI engineer Peter Tix. The construction featured a tripartite wall with freestanding panels inside each wall and floated in a customized liquid base in order to eliminate vibration. It consisted of a large and a small room. In 1986 the studio underwent a major overhaul.
