Turicaphon AG

Swiss record company Turicaphon AG was founded on October 1st, 1930 in Zurich. In 1936 they took over a bankrupt pressing factory in Riedikon, where they manufactured vinyl discs until 1992. Before and during the war, they mainly released Swiss artists. In 1948 Turicaphon opened a studio in Vienna, releasing on . In Switzerland they founded for all different kinds of music. All together, 100.000 titles got recorded for the biggest Swiss labels, radio and TV stations, as well as many self-released artists. In their best times, they pressed up to 4 million records a year, mainly for other labels like , or . In 1985 Hans L. Oestreicher junior took over the business. In 1991 they stopped to press records.
Nowadays, Turicaphon works as Broker for CD/DVD and vinyl manufacturing, label producer, distributor and publisher.

Vinyl pressings can be identified by "Made in Switzerland", "SWISS MADE" and / or the [crossbow logo] or TU in the runouts.
"TU" is sometimes printed on labels.

Turicaphon AG = Turicaphon SA = Turicaphon Ltd. These are all language variations.
