FSV

First Sound and Vision (FSV) was a record and CD manufacturer operating under this name from approximately 1998 to 2001.

On vinyl pressings "FSV" will be etched in the runouts.

FSV can be identified by its initials and "dancing man" logo in the CD matrix, and credited by a combination of NNNNN (five-digit matrix number) and MMDDYY (date code in matrix) plus/minus IFPI LD81 plus/minus IFPI 69** (check image section for characteristic layout of NNNNN/MMDDYY and mastering SID code highlighted in red boxes). The matrix number is sometimes suffixed with a slash and an extra digit in the form NNNNN/N. Please enter only the five-digit NNNNN in LCCN without the slash and suffixed digit.

Preferred LCCN role:
· Glass Mastered At - with mastering SID code LD81
· Pressed By - with mould SID code IFPI 69** or no mould SID code

FSV manufactured glass masters for replication by other plants, and so mould SID codes other than 69** should not be translated into a Pressed By credit for FSV.

Some releases credit . In those cases credit that profile even though its the same company.

Attention: The FSV branding did not appear in the CD matrix until early 1999. When the initial FS&V is found in the matrix, along with a logo featuring a circle with three diagonal lines inside it, please credit (predecessor name of First Sound & Vision) instead. Similarly, date codes indicating 1999-01-00 or earlier should be crediting to Forward Sound & Vision instead of FSV when neither manufacturer is named in the matrix.
