Hi Recording Corporation
Hi Recording Corporation was a Memphis soul and rockabilly company started in 1957 by singer Ray Harris, record store owner Joe Cuoghi, Bill Cantrell and Quinton Claunch (formerly producers for Sun Records), and three silent partners, including Cuoghi's lawyer, Nick Pesce. In 1977, Pesce sold the label to Cream Records owned by Alvin Bennett . The label was operated by his daughter, Adalah Bennett Shaw, from 1989 until her death in 2008.[3]
Much of Hi's music was recorded at Mitchell's Royal Sound Studio a.k.a. Royal Recording Studios, Memphis. If "Hi Recording" or "Hi Recording Studios" are given as a location, use Hi Studios.
