Do not confuse with the company name for RCA: Radio Corporation Of America
Company founded in 1950 by former Radio Corporation of America executive Eli Oberstein to combine the operations of many smaller labels he owned, such as Varsity, Allegro Records, and Rondor Music, into one corporate entity. The name was probably deliberately chosen to create confusion with his former employer's name. In fact, Oberstein liked to refer to his Record Corporation Of America publicly as "RCA". He sold most of this company, with the exception of the Rondor Music label, in the late 1950s to Pickwick Sales Corp.
