US soul jazz label founded by Creed Taylor in July 1971, as a subsidiary label of CTI Records.

The label was formed in order to showcase more 'commercial' artists than CTI, with a focus on R&B jazz and blues-oriented jazz music.

The label became inactive around 1979, was revived again in 1983 with 1477465 from Grover Washington, Jr., again in 1993 with the soundtrack 810347, and finally with the acid-jazz project 7353215 in 1996. Many of the label's titles remained in print in Japan with the I Love Kudu series.
