
Μίνως Μάτσας & Υιός Α.Ε.
Greek record company, established in November 1960 by [a=Μάκης Μάτσας] and his father, [a=Μίνως Μάτσας], who, in 1965, became CEO until his death.
Initially, the company marketed locally the [l=Odeon] and [l=Parlophone] labels in Greece. In the late 1960s, they launched [l=Minos (2)] and [l=Margophone] which replaced Odeon and Parlophone respectively.
It was the first Greek record company to sign an exclusive contract with a songwriter, , in 1962, and was the first to introduce in Greece the institution of a PR office in a record company, headed by , in the mid-1960s. Leftéris Papadópoulos held this position for six months only.
On 28 November 1968, they purchased the founded and owned by [a=Στέλιος Καζαντζίδης] label [l=Standard (7)] and the machinery of its pressing plant. A few years later, they sold the machinery to Cyprus.
