Société Française du Son
Société Française du Son was a French record company. It was part of the Fonior/IPG group and represented the Decca label in France from 1946.
The company was also known as [l=SOFRASON] (Société Française du Son) and sometimes appears on releases as "Ste Franc du Son" or S.F.S.
Because of the Decca affiliation, the company was also referred to as "Decca France".
In 1979, Société Française du Son went bankrupt. Parts of its catalogue were later acquired by [l=Sonodisc].
Even though the company is often mentioned on releases as the manufacturer, the actual manufacturing likely took place at [l=A.C.E.M.] or [l=A.R.E.A.C.E.M.].
