
Sunset Sound
American independent recording studio in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles, California; formerly . Originally opened by [a=Tutti Camarata] in 1962 as [l=Sunset Sound Recorders], the studio became "Sunset Sound" in 1982 with the purchase of nearby studio [l=The Sound Factory]. [b]Use only for releases from 1982 or later.[/b]

Note: this studio should not be confused with which was located at the corner of Sunset and Highland in Hollywood, and sometimes referred to as 'Sunset'.
Founded in 1958 as by , and used exclusively for Disney productions until 1962, when the studio began booking external clients. The studio was built in a building that was previously an auto repair shop. Later, due to demand, a former restaurant space next door was purchased, and the studio expanded to three rooms. In 1984, the legendary Studio One was renovated with a new custom crafted 68 channel digital logic controlled console - featuring Neve/NECAM automation. It was designed and built by Sunset Industries. The studio manager at the time was Craig Hubler.
