Word, Inc.

U.S. record company that operated the Christian music label [l=Word]. The company emerged around 1967, after the merger of [l=Word Records, Inc.] and the Word Distributing Company.
In 1974, Word Inc. was acquired by ABC Inc. and later it became part of [l=Capital Cities/ABC Inc.].
In 1992 [l=Capital Cities/ABC Inc.] sold the company to [l=Thomas Nelson, Inc.] in 1992 for $72 million.
