Sold to [l=MCA Inc.] in 1964.
On July 25, 1952, an agreement was reached with [l=Mezhdunarodnaya Kniga] for Leeds to act as the exclusive licensing agent in North America for Soviet recordings (in an attempt to stop unauthorized releases). A number of US labels would go on to license tapes from Leeds in the following years, such as [l=Vanguard], [l=Westminster], and [l=Monitor Records (2)]. The deal was renewed again in 1956 for an additional 5 years.
