US hip-hop company, based in Brooklyn, NY and founded by UK native Ian and co-owned with Stephen.
They formerly distributed mixtapes by mail order service. By 1991, Tape Kingz began adverstising in The Source. Eventually its distribution network included most of the US and other countries like Japan and Gemany. Ian established Tape Kingz Records in 1994 for independent releases, but he continued selling mixtapes and in 1997, he created tapekingz.com (on internet).
